New Meat* Burger with Blue Cheese Alternative and Pears

Ingredients

*Free from animal products

2 hamburger buns
2 pears
4 tb sugar
1 red onion, thinly sliced
Some curly leaf lettuce
3 tb vegan mayonnaise
0.5 salt
1 tb balsamic vinegar
1 ts date syrup
Some lemon zest, grated
28 g vegan blue cheese alternative

Preparation

For the caramelised pears:

1. Peel the pears and slice thinly. Dip the sliced pears in sugar.
2. Heat a frying pan over a medium heat. Place the pear slices in the hot pan and fry for 2-3 minutes on each side until the sugar has caramelised and the pears are golden brown. Remove the pears from the pan and set aside until ready to use.

For the sweet aioli:

1. Mix the vegan mayonnaise alternative, date syrup, salt, balsamic vinegar and grated lemon zest in a small bowl until smooth and set aside until ready to use.

Prepare the Redefine Premium Burger:

1. Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a large frying pan over a medium-high heat. Fry the burgers for 10 minutes in a covered pan, turning occasionally, until nicely browned and cooked through. Follow the cooking instructions on the label.

Prepare the burger:

1. Lightly toast the burger buns.
2. Crumble the blue cheese alternative into a small bowl.
3. Spread the toasted rolls generously with the date syrup aioli.
4. Cover the bottom of each roll with lettuce.
5. Top with a Redefine burger patty, followed by sliced red onion. Sprinkle with crumbled blue cheese substitute and finish with slices of caramelised pear. We recommend drizzling the pears with date syrup.
6. Cover with the second half of the roll.
7. Serve with a side dish such as chips and aioli. Enjoy your meal!
