Date sugar – delicate sweetness from dates
Not all sugar is made equal. This vegan date sugar from controlled organic cultivation is a real alternative to normal industrial sugar, and even more versatile.
Completely unprocessed, it has a consistency comparable to that of icing sugar and, like icing or household sugar, it can be used 1:1.
The fair-trade dates are dried after harvest, allowing the sugar contained within them to be crystallised and then very finely ground. This creates a lightly shimmering colour and powder-like consistency perfect for creamy desserts, cakes and muffins. This sugar is a must-have for frosting or dusting pastries.
Date sugar is an ingenious ingredient for adding delicate sweetness to dressings, marinades, muesli and shakes too. The subtle caramel flavour refines other savoury dishes and adds a slight touch of the Orient.
